The predecessor of China Machinery General Research Institute Group Shenyang Foundry Research Institute Co., Ltd. was Shenyang Foundry Research Institute, established on February 25, 1957. It was a public institution directly under the former Ministry of Machinery Industry. In 2023, it was renamed China Machinery General Institute Group Shenyang Foundry Research Institute Co., Ltd. and is under the jurisdiction of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of China General Machinery Science Research Institute Group Co., Ltd. It is a national-level foundry technology research institution and a designated institution for master's degree admission.

The National Key Laboratory of High-end Equipment Casting Technology, the Foundry Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, the National Foundry Standardization Technical Committee, the Foundry Industry Productivity Promotion Center, the World Foundry Organization (WFO) Molding Materials Committee, Die Casting Committee, Non-Ferrous Alloys Committee, Iron-Based Materials Committee, and the Quality Supervision and Testing Center for Important Casting Products in the Mechanical Industry Molding Materials are all located in our company.

Our company mainly engages in research, development, technology promotion, and product manufacturing in cast steel materials, cast iron materials, cast non-ferrous alloy materials, high-temperature alloy materials, foundry raw and auxiliary materials, casting composites, advanced melting technologies, special casting and precision technologies, casting environmental protection technologies, core 3DP forming technology, casting equipment, and other areas.

The company covers a total area of 240,000 square meters, including 20,000 square meters for the main office, 150,000 square meters for the western industrial base, 50,000 square meters for the southern industrial base, and 20,000 square meters for the chemical park industrial base. The company currently employs 643 people, including 137 researchers and senior engineers, 17 doctoral students, and 155 master's degree holders, with several academic leaders in the foundry field. Among them, there is 1 "Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Expert" under the National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project, 6 experts enjoying special government allowances, 4 national-level candidates for the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project," 1 Liaoning Province Leading Innovation Talent, and 1 candidate for the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project."

Since its establishment, the company has undertaken numerous national science and technology projects and supporting projects, including the Ministry of Science and Technology's Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's major science and technology project for high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment. To date, it has achieved over 700 scientific research results, including 19 national awards and over 200 provincial and ministerial awards, and holds 104 valid authorized patents, including 78 invention patents. Nearly 300 national and industry standards for foundry have been formulated and revised, including 193 national and industry standards for foundry manufacturing that he has led or participated in drafting, providing technical support for improving process levels, equipment upgrades, and technological progress in China's foundry industry. It has provided a large amount of advanced technology and high-quality casting products for China's aerospace and key national engineering projects. As the first drafting unit of foundry standards, our company has formulated 80 national standards and 36 industry standards, and participated in the formulation of 1 international standard, 47 national standards, and 29 industry standards, providing technical support for the technological progress of China's foundry industry.

Currently, the company has established production bases for special steel castings, electroslag melt castings, large-scale aluminum-magnesium alloy castings, non-ferrous precision castings, titanium alloy castings, high-temperature alloy castings, copper alloy castings, casting materials, casting equipment, and complete machining centers. Our company adopts advanced domestic and international production technology to supply a large number of high-quality castings and products for the supply of aerospace equipment in China and the construction of large power stations both domestically and internationally.
